I received this from Titi Yuli (thank you) and wanted to share it with you all. When I was 3 years old my Mom worked as a Marshall for the Federal Court in Puerto Rico, and due to the nature of her job, she had to carry a gun. One day, my aunt Yolanda came over to the house to visit my mother. My Mom was not at home, however, our housekeeper Ines was there and they started talking. After a few minutes they realized that I was no where in sight (or sound for that matter) and Titi Yuli started searching for me. She went into my mother's bedroom and found me there. It seems I had pulled down the bedspread and found my mother's gun under the pillow. Titi Yuli screamed "Oh my God!!", and Ines came running. Titi Yuli was so afraid because I was playing with the gun and waving it around. She screamed for Ines to do something, and sure enough Ines was able to get the gun away from me. Needless to say, I cried because I wanted my "toy" back. She says I was really angry at both of them. Titi Yuli asks, "was the gun loaded?" She still does not know. However, Titi Yuli left the house crying and very nervous.
Let me interject here that I don't remember this incident, however, I do remember when I was older Ines saving my life many times. She is imbedded in my memory as the sweetest, nicest person who loved me as if I was her own daughter. She helped me with so many things. I only wish I had her around now for my own daughter to learn from her wisdom.
