I don't even like arroz con pollo.
This is Yolandita (oldest daughter of Miguel A. Serrano & Yolanda C. Arreche). I have 5 children: Carlos Eduardo, 28; Guillermo Miguel, 24; Juan Carlos, 22; Diana Marie, 20 and Anna Yolanda who went to be our Lord in May of last year just after her 12th birthday. My husband George, Juan and I live in Altamonte Springs, Florida. I have three grandchildren: Loruama Liz age 6, Lindell Jay age 2 and Anna Marie age 6 months. My husband, George, is a mechanic, Juan just changed jobs and I am a secretary. We love Jesus and our free time is spent for the Lord in different ministries.
Did you know that writing a book about the Arreche family was our grandfather's dream. He never got around to it but he did give it a name, La Historia de Un Hombre Pobre.
Being a true daddy's girl, I enjoy life by observing it intently. Many things leave an indelible mark. Here are some of them.

I remember Tia Iris' extraordinary beef soup. I also remember her resourcefulness. Driving down a both narrow and very busy side street in Santurce, Puerto Rico with Mom and me in the car one very hot afternoon, she parked where the sign clearly said not to. As we came back to the vehicle a bit later, a enforcement officer was writing her a ticket. Her face showed utter panic and dismay. In this pathetic state she rushed to the police officer crying out, "Por favor, no. Por favor, no. Es que tengo un padecimiento." (Please, no. Please, no. It's that I have an ailment) Well, that tough guy just almost went into tears at here plight and tore the ticket. We bundled into the car at top speed wondering what strange disease had attacked. After we were well away from the area of the incident, I asked Tia what this ailment was. Her response? Sed (thirst).

I remember Tia Rafaela's spotlessly clean house and Tio Carl's love for Jai-Alai. He wrote a book about it and I type it. It was my first paying job.
We still write to each other and call. She is so proud of Carl, Jr. and grateful of how much he cares for her. Hats off, cuz.

Tia Diana is my favorite Tia and all my childhood memories include her. We too also stay in close contact. Both Tia's and my parents also love our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ and we pray for all of you.
